Creatine is an amino acid synthesized naturally in the body from three amino acids (arginine, glycine, and methionine). The readily combined phosphocreatine with phosphate is a high-energy source for muscle contraction. The synthetic creatine is commercially available as a nutritional supplement in the form of creatine monohydrate which is a molecule of creatine accompanied by a molecule of water to increase product stability.
